The 1958 Precision Bass carries the changes from the 1957 redesign: the split pickup, here a Custom Shop Hand-Wound '57 Precision Bass, and the gold anodized aluminum pickguard. The body is 2-piece select alder, or ash on the sunburst, with a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck and fingerboard, finished in Relic lacquer with checking, dings and oxidized hardware. The 1957 Soft "V" neck has a 1.75" nut and a 7.25" radius, with 20 medium jumbo frets that give a little more to grip than the narrow vint
