1954 was the first full year of the Les Paul Custom, the tuxedo Les Paul and the first guitar fitted with the ABR-1 bridge. Like the earliest Customs, this reissue has a staple pickup in the neck and a soapbar P-90 in the bridge. A solid mahogany body with multi-ply binding, a 1950s Chunky D neck on an ebony board with mother-of-pearl blocks, 500K CTS pots and paper-in-oil capacitors, a stop bar, Kluson waffleback tuners and gold hardware.
