Introduced in 1976, the Yamaha SG2000 is one of the most celebrated Japanese electric guitars of its era, and this example dates from the very first year of production. Developed during Yamaha's ambitious expansion into high-end electric instruments, the SG2000 became particularly associated with Carlos Santana, whose involvement helped establish the model's reputation for exceptional sustain and rich, singing tones. Its construction sets it apart from more conventional double-cutaway guitars.
