Paddy Burgin's deep-body acoustic lap slides have become mainstays here at The Music Emporium: very well made, highly musical interpretations of Hermann Weissenborn's classic designs of the 1920s and '30s. Mahogany works beautifully as a tone wood for acoustic lap steel, offering a strong, thick fundamental note that plays equally well with single-note runs as well chords. Dubbed a Style 2 with the upgrade of rope binding, the aesthetic is clean, the appointments very well executed. We go back
