Gibson shipped only 19 Explorers in 1958, which makes originals some of the most sought-after electrics there are. This Custom Shop reissue builds the shape in two-piece mahogany. A 50s Vintage mahogany neck on an Indian rosewood board, unpotted Custombuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, 500K CTS pots and a phone book capacitor, an ABR-1 no-wire bridge, aluminum stop bar and Kluson single-ring tuners with aged gold hardware.
