The 1958 Les Paul Standard: narrow frets, a round, full neck and a plain maple top hide-glued to one-piece lightweight mahogany. Gibson's Murphy Lab, named for Tom Murphy, who pioneered guitar aging at Gibson, finishes this guitar in aged nitro lacquer and ages its hardware to match.
