The Thinline first appeared in 1968 as a semi-hollow Telecaster, with a solid centre, hollow wings and an f-hole on the upper bout, which makes it lighter than a solid Tele. The Vintage Custom 1968 Tele Thinline is the mahogany version, in Aged Natural lacquer over a WLS undercoat, with no aging to the finish and Closet Classic hardware. The neck is maple with a lite tint, a '60s Oval "C" carve and a round-laminated maple fingerboard with a 7.25" to 9.5" compound radius and medium vintage frets
