This 1992 Gibson Super 400 CES is Gibson's flagship electric archtop, and it carries itself that way. A carved spruce top, maple back and sides, cream binding with multi line purfling, gold tuners and the engraved Super 400 tailpiece give it a grand, elegant look, while two humbuckers give it the warm, round voice that has made this model a favourite among jazz players for decades. The Super 400 first appeared in 1934, named after its price of 400 dollars at a time when that was a small fortune
