We specced this one ourselves through Gibson Custom Shop's Made to Measure programme. The idea was a sunburst with sparkle in it, and Gibson's name for what came back is Gold Vermillion Burst. It sits on a 1968 Les Paul Custom Reissue, aged by the Murphy Lab to its Ultra Heavy level, so the sparkle reads through decades' worth of checking and wear. It carries Custombucker pickups in place of the standard set, the other spec we chose for it, with gold hardware and an ebony fingerboard. It weighs
