Gibson’s ES-125TC was the genetic successor to slightly fancier ES-225TC that Gibson produced through the 1950s. The 125 was designed with the same 16” thin full-hollow cut-away body and 24.75” scale neck as the 225, but featured simplified headstock and fretboard appointments, a ‘normal’ trapeze tailpiece and adjustable bridge set up, and its single pickup was located in the neck position rather than in half way between the fretboard’s end and the bridge. Added up, it was a more player friendly
