1956 was the only full year the Les Paul had P-90s with the adjustable ABR-1. A plain maple top hide-glued to one-piece lightweight mahogany. Gibson's Murphy Lab, named for Tom Murphy, who pioneered guitar aging at Gibson, finishes this guitar in aged nitro lacquer and ages its hardware to match.
