A seriously vibey piece of early ‘80s Ibanez craftsmanship, this 1983 AS-80 in sunburst is everything you want from a compact semi-hollow with vintage character and real player appeal. These AM models have earned a loyal following for good reason, offering the warmth and resonance of a semi with a tighter, more focused feel that sits perfectly in a mix. Tonally, it’s got that sweet balance of clarity and warmth, with a woody low end, expressive mids, and a smooth top that never feels brittle. T
